Is owning a franchise a good choice for you and your family as an entrepreneur?

Lets face it. In today's turbulent times, working for "the man" just isn't an option anymore. The only way to truly become wealthy and live the lifestyle you've always dreamed of is to be an entrepreneur and own your own business.

The question is, "What kind of venture is right for me?"

That's a great question and it's one I can't answer for you. All I can do is give you some great info and you'll have to make an educated decision for yourself.

Why Own A Franchise?

Here's the truth about franchises. They are proven to work because of one crucial element most businesses don't have... A SYSTEM. System stands for Save Your Self Time Energy and Money. I like that.

Let's be honest here. The most successful franchise in the world is McDonalds, and it's not because of their great tasting food (even though I'd argue their fries are pretty darn good :)). They have such an amazing system that will produce the same results anywhere in the world.

As a typical business owner, you might not be afforded that luxury. You might not have a well-oiled machine for your business. In fact, I'm very confident most of you learned entrepreneurship and business ownership as you went along. You've probably made boatloads of mistakes which has cost you a ton of money.

The negatives of "typical" franchises might be a territory restriction and/or royalty fees among having to stay within the guidelines of what the franchise can do. If you are a creative person always trying out new ideas, then owning a franchise might not be for you.

Owning a franchise is a GREAT choice for entrepreneurs.

You have a proven system at your full disposal that gives you an incredible chance of succeeding. In fact over 70% of franchise owners report they are profitable. You have a brand name that already comes with an image, reputation, or whatever. Note: not all brands are good though in the public's eyes. You have ongoing support and ongoing education to keep you up-to-date with changes and current market trends. You have the power of leverage in that the franchisor usually already has preferred vendors in place and has serious negotiating power (on your behalf) in the matters of real estate location, other vendors, etc.

Getting funding for owning a franchise is usually easier as banks actually prefer to lend to franchises because of their proven track record of success. As you go through the process of owning a franchise, you will have the chance to meet or visit the headquarters, meet the executives and the FDD will provide you a great deal of information about the company in terms of any pending litigation, financial statements etc. Bottom line is you have a good solid understanding of the financial position of the potential franchisor.

At the end of the day, owning a franchise is a pretty smart choice for entrepreneurs who want the highest probability of success and who want to live their American Dream.
